    The Elephant that went Places

    There was a baby elephant,
who loved me and adored me.
She would never leave my side.
    Not even for meat.

One day, the town wanted the elephant
for a fair going on downtown.
She had to run in an elephant race,
and she ran too fast and ran to France wearing a crown.

She turned around and charged back to me.
She knocked me to my feet
    when he starting licking me.
She was an elephant that was sweet.

She lifted me to her back.
    She started to sniff me.
    When I woke up,
I was at home and people my elephant a he!

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
