The Calling

Poem Commentary

There is an age old saying out there that is so very true. the saying goes: "You can't fight you destiny." It is my friends so very true!

The Calling

For a year I heard a voice,
speaking to me and making me listen,
I simply had no choice.
MUSIC & MINISTRY the voice would say,
I heard it constantly night and day,
Day in and day out the voice would call "MUSIC & MINISTRY",
Aggravated, frustrated and finely fed up with the voice,
I raised my voice as I screamed out,
MUSIC & MINISTRY, Father what does it mean?
God's reply took awhile,
but I had left my prayer with a smile!
I knew in my heart that MUSIC & MINISTRY was just the start,
I could feel it in my heart that there was something more,
Something that just wasn't there before or from the start of prayer,
The voice had suddenly changed when I passed by a Catholic Church,
The voice had the began to cry "PRIEST"
I could not deny no matter how hard I fought and how much I tried,
The voice I heard was of heavenly tones,
It was calling me to become a priest and to walk with Christ and Christ alone.
For several months I had fasted and prayed,
The more I fasted and the more I prayed,
The more the Spirit validated my calling to become a Priest! Keisha!
Everywhere I went and all the people that I had passed
Inevitablaly someone had always asked Are you a PAST, PREACHER, MINSTER, PREIST OR FATHER,
NO, no, no and no. my resounding word I gave,
This is the tale of the time that I had hear the Call of heaven most dear,
A never ending voice and very loud echoing in my ear.

Thank you my most Gracious Friend!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
