The Calling

The Calling

Stone against stone
bone against bone
that is the way it is
as the bodies
of celestial dynasties
rub being there into being.

Steel against steel
wheel against wheel
that is the way it is.

He looked down
upon a darkness
where figures shone as gold
upon a path of light
as they walked
with messages in their heart.

He did not know
why he was placed on high
or why they were set low;
that was the way it was.

The scene, itself
was a message
the wealth of its insight
beyond his reach
teaching him what was right
through a vision of symbols, of signs
but the meaning of the view
the direction of its point
a correction for his life, he was certain
seemed beyond his reach
so he drew thoughts
from the good that was there
so he meditated upon passages
so he waited.

Time moved its fingers
across grooves of prayerful thought
some eluding his catch
some that he caught
and he knew
that what he sought
was the way to grow his life
as he grew toward an understanding
of what he must do.

To flee
the grip of evil
is good.

To control and enslave
through the manipulation of powers
is evil.

To serve
with a clean heart
is a gift.

From on high
held by a cloud, pure and white
was an iron tongs
and in its jaws
an ember burned.

As the cloud approached him
his seeing grew large
and it touched his lips
with the ember, searing hot.

There was no pain
only relief.

Ten thousand, thousand angels
came toward him then;
they were his army
for the war of the end times.

Stone against stone
bone against bone
that is the way it is
as the bodies
of celestial dynasties
rub being there into being.

Steel against steel
wheel against wheel
that is the way it is.

As it is written,
"Here am I Lord.
Send me. Send me."

Here, the mystical and the mythical join forces that bring together a beauteous write of stellar creative poetry and language. This is eternal art functioning as myth and reality, religion and spirituality, culminating into a universal gift. I enjoy your friendship, thank you. All the best for you and your latest book!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
