the broken

the broken

Enter- your refusal
your eagerness to glance away
I know you want more
than you ever dare to ask.

I've felt the trickle
the steady drip....
slowly wearing down....
diluting, and coming back.

Diamond bladed
and double edged
Is it still to dull?
Show me where to cut it.

I often wonder where
to draw the line.

Screaming out
just to hear myself
Reaching out
to be touched just once.

Torn fragments
of empty words
I stand corrected
searching for my piece of mind.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
