The Big Guys' Watching

As I peer out into the Big Royal Blue sky,
As I look up a star appear,
I listen to the the sound of change.
Another comes into view,
As graceful ballroom dance ,
As an ark of light streams across
the dark blue sky,
Like the dance of the bevel of the ball of a foot they turn.
I can see in the matter was all it took,
By the celestial bodies in the wisk of the moment,
that would appear into view,
that miracle of life that created me and you.
So gaze up at the stars more often
and everything around,
for what comes up is knowing,
what and all that is created down.
From the Big and Little Dipper,
I see
is it?
Yes, it is
Orions Belt with glee
And another,appears
I look left, I look right,
As a blessed view of the sky
out of sight!
Not one or a million words,
would do,
For i keep peering upwards,
for another blessed view,
The grandger, of the wonder
for another to appear,
A to compliment without even saying a word,
to feel the excitement but with a cheer,
with a smile .
For I have seen heavenly intities
file after file.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
