Poem Commentary

As I face these holidays again, alone, I wish to lift all who find it hard to face. Our Lord has never left you, even one step of the way, your whole life. Being alone was always my greatest fear. Now that I have turned to face our Creator, being alone is the best thing that ever happened to me. Just reach out and find the Father who is always going to wait for you.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving's coming 'round again
This year please be prepared
To share it with a special friend
That always has been there.

As this year comes to a close
A long list we shall write
To the One who always knows
And has held us thru the night

Saying thank you for our eyes
That open every day
To new and beautiful skies
And a Son that lights the way.

Thank you for true Gratitude
The best feeling we know
It straightens any 'attitude'
And helps our hearts to grow.

This Thanksgiving dress to impress
Don't let your brightness hide
Reach out to one under duress
Who's joy has been denied.

And thank you for Joy unspeakable
Though sometimes hard to know
It truly remains seekable
It shines in every rainbow.

Say thank you we're forgiven
For every regretful wrong
Life is now worth living
We're free to sing Love's song.

In closing, one thing I must say
I hope it comes out crystal clear
Thanksgiving is for every day
Not just one day a year!

So very true, in that we should give thanks for each and every day we have in this life; as it is a gift. And this gift should be cherished not one day of the year, but for all.

Simply put, a great seasonal poem you've meticulously crafted, that not only applies to the Holiday but also applies to every day!

The message here is very true! It's a great reminder for us all to be thankful for even the smallest things and it's right on time for the holiday.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
