Tell Me

Tell Me

Tell me why we have one life ,
and why the sun never shines extra bright .

Tell me when will we leave ,
and why slaves begged and plead .

Tell me does racism still exist ,
and how promises break in a mist .

Tell me how we came to be ,
while you lay down and lie about "she"

Tell me why men cheat and lie ,
and say how our love is sweet and divine .

Tell me when do we become one ,
just don't pull the trigger on that gun .

Tell me why our love never lasted ,
as your blood scattered on the plastic .

Tell me...why we had to go like this ,
and why how it became a MIST .

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
