Tears of Joy
I will not let you see me cry.
You think I am strong because I tell you I am.
But I do cry tears from my heart.
I tell you what you want to hear so there will be no conflict.
But there is conflict. Conflict between my heart and my mind.
I cannot tell you the truth because I do not want to hurt you.
So cry in the shadows.
I do not want you to know that I am weak.
You have played on my weaknesses before.
But not this time. I will not let you.
I weep when it is dark, when the lights are low.
I am building my strength, it will not be long.
The truth will come out of the shadows.
You will see my tears now, but this time they will be tears of joy.
