    Stuck in the Rut

    With a mind like a nut,
    her thoughts are all stuck in a rut.
    With nothing to do
    and nothing to say.
    She passes by though each new day;
    waiting, hoping always having to pray to
    be shown something, to know the way.
    But her mind was a nut,
    always stuck in a rut
    and she never knew what to say.

    The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

    Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
