    Standing on the "Cliff"

From there I can see the hurtful past. Wondering in hindsight how unattended wounds would last.
Standing, staring, afraid to take the smallest steps, knowing these things in my mind have crept.
The “Cliff” is smooth, high and steep. Letting me explore and kind of be at peace.
Not wanting to expose my indelible scares or open another chamber that’s locked behind bars.
I release little by little my fears on the “Cliff” and not a bend, nor the wind, could make the “Cliff” shift.
Be you, I hear from the top as I cry, don’t let the insecurities rule your life. As I try to regain my composure, the “Cliff” reassures, you’re not out of place and with strength you endure.
Now the “Cliff” is my refuge understanding and calm.
I pray my antics have did the “Cliff” no harm.
Although I’m a saboteur the closer one gets.
At the “Cliff” I’ve tried, to no avail, so I’ll quit.
In the meantime to relax will be my best bet.
I just pray the "Cliff” will withstand my mess.

Nicely written, Thank you for the pleasure of reading your poem. if you get the chance please look at some of mine,.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
