Splintered

Poem Commentary

As you read this piece
it should be plain enough
to understand what happened.

Splintered

We sang
        we danced
beating drums
           swaying bodies
drawn together by threads of pain

childhood terrors
           cast shadows
on a wall
        screams escape
from a corner
             voices cry inside ones mind

splintered

Thank you for looking deep into this poem, many of us do not or can not always understand what others are trying to acknowledge from deep within.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
