sorry is all i can say

sorry is all i can say

there you're standing
hugging yourself tighter
guarding ur heart fiercely
like a mother protecting her child
turning ur back to me
washing ur hands off me
like a city wiped clean by a draught
knowing i'm the cause of this
and i'm sorry,very sorry
don't turn my joy to sadness
don't turn my love to hatred
don't turn my smile to tears
don't turn my glow to a frown
don't turn your love to pity
don't turn your tenderness to obligation
don't turn your respect to wariness and
don't turn our love to a match,
match of pride and egos
here is the crystal of our love
not for you to break it
for you to protect it
now look at me,look into my eyes and watch
watch the shimmering tears fall and
tell me, tell me, i'm not sorry.
