    societys ignorance

every day I look and see
    how are great society
is made of all different people
and it makes me start to feel
    that we should just disregard
the color of all skin and start
to always treat people the same
and stop playing this hate game
    colors not significant
    we should start to implement
a plan to help us realize
the person that's before our eyes
    is the same as everyone
it doesnt matter where they're from
    let me make this accurate
there's no turning back from it
    please listen while I explain
there is so much we can gain
if the world stopped being blind
we just might wake up and find
there is so much we can share
let me try to make it clear
we use the same air to breathe
    our hearts all beat underneath
    love helps everyone to thrive
food is what keeps us alive
shelter keeps us from the cold
we're all born and then grow old
we can laugh or we can cry
we all tell truths and even lie
we all have dreams and wish on stars
sometimes life can leave us scars
    we have weaknesses and try
to find our strength from down inside
    so please quit being ignorant
lets all be polite and grant
    the respect this world deserves
we're all living on this earth
so lets try to get along
    theres enough things going wrong
    without all this hostility
    and racist negativity

seriously, if we can get rush Limbaugh off the air, it would be perfect. Great poem, i feel the same way but for a multitude of reasons people want to hold on to perspectives that separate.

    Very true ... so true!!

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
