    Showers In The Heartland

The sun is always shining on the coast
I've heard you say it's paradise
Still I never thought I'd see you go
The sky above me must've felt your goodbye
It's been raining day and night
All I can do is pray the storm the end and the clouds will break
No telling how long I'll have to wait
Like the tears that fall everyday you're gone
The weatherman is calling for showers in the heartland
I wonder if you're missing what you left behind 1000 miles away
Is it really all you thought that you would find
Do the memories fade with each sunset, how can you forget
Some day I'm gonna wake up and see that rainbow shining down on me
But for now, all I can do is pray the storm will end and the clouds will break

wonderful write. full of emotion. 10 from me

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
