    Poem Commentary

    hOW WATER COULD BE SUCH A POWERFUL ENEMY, IMAGINE THE FLOODS, DEVASTATING AND WHEN YOU WITNESS IT COULD BE MORE ALARMING. THE RECENT UTTARAKAND DEBACLE , WHEN I WATCHED OVER TV , MADE ME INSTANTLY WRITE THIS POEM.

    She surges on

        She      surges on....

    She    surges  on

    with   an  orgy  of

    Irreconcilable   fury

    and   vendetta  ;

    nacromancer's tricks ,

     overriding   the   wet

    and  dry  wall, dam’s

     Barricade:  she

    invades    busy  land’s

    buzz   and   bustle;

    fulfilling     the  long

    sought  after watery

      holocaust: soon   to  float,

    how   many  rot  in  her

    gush     gale  interplay!

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
