Poem Commentary

I have absolutely no idea what I was thinking when I wrote this. It didn't turn out terrible, though- just vague. If I ever get time, I'll explore this and try to develop it further.

Shadows

Light and Dark
Life and Death
Which is which?

Do we live in darkness?
The hate and
The loneliness
Of Life
Darken our souls
Transform us
Into cowards

Into Death we pass
Into a sanctuary
Of Light
A place of kindness
And joy
Of freedom
And hope
Where we grow
Wings of Light

We think we know
That Life is Light
And Death is Dark
But which is which?

We are lost
In a world
Of Shadows

Like I said, I love your poems, but I also like that picture!

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
