    Shades of Gray.

Love and pain go together like day and night,
In a world without wrong, then there would be no right,

Without war there is no chance for victory,
Answers come only when first there is a mystery,

Nothing is free, everything has a price,
With every gain there must have been a sacrifice,

Repentance comes only after guilt and conviction,
Restoration of spirit comes after soul affliction,

    Forgiveness comes only after confession,
For every rule there is always an exception,

The main point I want to convey,
This world is not black and white,
    Only shades of gray.

I like the structure and concept of the poem. I would like to see you develop the concept with some imagery and/or metaphor.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
