Secret Eyes

My life is forever moving forward

Without regard for time

Am I loosing precious moments

Without love so divine

I feel the pain almost every day

This incarcerated state

That I am in

My heart is beating strong

But in a stealthy wake

Praying, hoping

I can only wish

   Someday

If only I could grasp

What makes me tear

Could she love me

Or is there too much fear

I find the time escaping me

Every minute of everyday

Has it been too long

Was I, oh so wrong

Famous line I suppose

I have changed

No not my clothes

Life’s valuable lessons

Learned Have I

Too Late, too Bad?

I can’t just stand by

I pray each day

I am strong enough

Long enough to survive.

I ask only one thing

Open your eyes and let go

Than, is it your heart I see

Or just the glimpse

 Of that perfect memory.

I like the emotional build up in this poem as you decide if you are worthy of the person you are pursuing. It makes it flow and fun to read.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
