Searching For Myself

Searching For Myself

I've lost myself somewhere along
this lonely journey we call life.
I miss the me
That I used to be
I have all this anger
And my sanity is in danger
I keep crying for help
But I can't find myself
I'm here somewhere
Lost in the darkness and can't see
I'm hiding from the reality
I need to search deep within
So I can be me again.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
