    Schweitzeeeeee

We laughed so hard for a little while
    Then resentment poured over us
We forgave, and we laughed some more
I cried so hard when my grandpa died
You held me close and made me feel loved
Then we drank a beer and laughed some more
Through our illnesses and sober times
Through our work, our cat, our yard we sweat
The tediousness of liife through our bodies and souls
Then the day has ended, the work is all done
So we lay on the couch petting our cat
And sure enough we laughed some more
I can never forget the first day that we first meshed
    Fumbling hands, whispered voices
Both exhausted and spent, feeling aglow
As we lay there together thanking each other
    Virgin giggles bind us together
And there we lay and laughed some more
And I left you alone to follow my wishes
Cried so many nights for the mistake that I made
But you're happy again with new hope in your heart
So I silently talk to you in my mind
Believe it or not we're laughing some more

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
