roy.

I thought that I feared nothing,

but it was nothing that feared me.

My mind was the "Scream",

the emotions of a black and white canvas,

the terror of swirls of paint.

I begged to have back that peace --

that peace that I lost in the liquid pearl.

I sent the Shadow an invitation;

And this time it replied.

It came knocking on my door,

"aratatat tat!"

"Are you sure you want this"

It asked.

Silence.

Intuition.

Knowledge.

Fear.

Terror.

Absolute.

Nothingness.

"No, I do not want this."

Mercy.

I thought that I wanted that slumber.

But like the "Scream",

that thought was just a painting,

an outline of a memory.

I do not want this suffering anymore.

I'm tired of this silouette tapping my shoulder,

"Are you ready yet?"

"Here Shadow, you can have my agony instead. I do not need it any more. You can have my sins and my regrets. It is only baggage. Grant me mercy. Give me peace. Take my memory -- that you can have. But please, don't take me. . . ."

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
