    Remembrance In Sorrow

"In this life there are many sorrows....but take heart; for I have overcome the world"........./ When I turn to the Lord in my sorrow;/ He will always give me the inner fortitude/ I need to bear the pain.....if I sincerely ask Him/ And am willing to trust His able hands./ He will make a way where there is no way;/ And will give me hope for recovery;/ From a loss beyond imagination...../ A loss I cannot begin to fathom;/ Or remedy on my own accord./ The Lord of all lords and heart of all hearts/ Reminds me of the great uncertainty called life/ And the multitude of preoccupations we have;/ As we quietly and blissfully forget/ What is important to The Master of All Creation./ In God's heavenly realm there is no sorrow;/ And, for now, the hope of salvation bringeth/ Light in my darkest hour....../ Making worthwhile....impossibility./ Turning horror away from intended disaster./ Kindest words.....Softest touch;/ Unspeakably loving aura proceeding/ Down upon me now....demonstrating; cultivating/ The Great Eternal Truth: There is no one other than He./ Capable; reliable; priceless are the words/ Of His description./ Above all measure is...../ The value of the God of my life./ Who forever this day has taken away/ The day of my deepest sorrow./

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
