Remember when... Written by Jasmine Brown
Remember when cutting meant cutting in line?
Remember when 'suicide' was just mixing a bunch of drinks together?
Remember when the only explosions were the ones from the chemistry lab?
Remember when the only buildings that blew up and fell down were the ones in the playroom?
Remember when the only things we buried were our toys in the sand box?
Remember when the only bad things that could get us at night were just the monsters who dwelled but stayed beneath our bed?
Remember when the only pictures that were taken were the happy and willing ones?
Remember when the only things that got killed were the spiders in the bathtub?
Remember when wearing red and blue wasn't dangerous?
Remember when the only guns were the ones that come with GI Joe?
Remember when the only meds were for a cough and hospitals were only for aches and pains?
Do you remember when you were forced to grow up and your world as you knew it came crashing down around you...?
If only "remembering when" I knew back then I would have cherished every moment as it were the last; not been in such a rush to get through...
True + Real = Truth and Reality colliding rather than coinciding.
**As told by Ms. Jazzy (a 14 yr. old mother of 4 working curbside in the street of Hollywood.)
