    Remember When

    Remember when:
    Throwing china berries at each other was how we handled a feud;
    Afterwards enjoying sour grass that we all picked and chewed.

    Remember when:
    Siblings and cousins shared baths in wash tubs made of tin;
    Breakfast was after you plucked the eggs from underneath a hen.

    Remember when:
    Your grandpa used the mule and a plow to turn the soil;
    Grandma's cure for every ailment was the good ole castor oil.

    Remember now:
    It's our place to pass on, all these memories of such;
    Life won't be that way again, sometimes I miss those days so much.

    Not exactly the same memories, but I do remember when. Very nice job. TS

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
