    Regrets? I had a few

Holding on to life by the thread

Like threading a needle but no longer

Able to see eye to eye

    Just taking life for granted

To those friends we made along the way

    Thanks for holding my hand

When I could no longer see

Sharing your precious time while mine’s

    Running out?

Thank you for tolerating the lies

    And seeing thru the fire

    Thanks for being there

When I called out your name

    Precious life the spoken words

    Taking the time to listen

    Tolerating who I am and

    What I have to say

But thanks most of all for

    What I needed to hear

    I love you

    Repeat it

    I love you too.

I don’t take life for granted

From one second to my last

Kind words from a trusted friend

    As I accepted you

Accept me for who I am

But most of all thanks for reading

    Between the lines and

    Taking the time to listen

For what I have to say

Maybe your last time to hear

    Listen

    I Love You

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
