    Regrets

    We all have regrets
For what could have been, should have been
Some of us dwell on them, some don't
    Regrets can make or break
Depending on how one handles them
Look at them, be honest with yourself
Strive to make it better next time
Let them go, for to grow
    One learns from the past
To hang on, to dwell on the what ifs, may bes
Stunts the nourishment we all need
    Think, feel, let it go
Like a leaf falling from the tree in a strong wind
    Learn, take pride in knowing
    You learned a life lesson.

this poem tells the reader not to live in the past or hang onto regrets we might have. live for today and leave the past alone.

That is what it's intended yes. Life is to short to stress the past and the what ifs.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
