    Rainy Morning

Water runs down the window pane
As the sky laughs out loud
Moisture travels in a snake trail
Along the bevel of the glass
    Gentle summer warmth
Whispers a song to the flowers
    We share coffee and conversation
    Muted by the gentle tapping
    Of the rainy mood
    And I forget that she
    Is my mother
And that we are of different
    Generations and attitudes
    We are joined by
    The moment and the
    Mutual feeling of the
    Rain and life

A lovely picture and mood you set with this little poem. I have always loved the rain, be it a thunderburst and downpour, or a slow all day long soaker. When I was young and at home on the farm, the rainy days were like vacations to us, and we could spend the day together inside the house as a family and play games or put puzzles together. That mood of family and togetherness still grabs me every time it rains. This is a lovely poem. Moses

Thank you so much for the feedback. I also was raised on a farm and I remember those rainy days. the sense of family was comforting. We still had to run outside and do chores though!
