"When you forget"
When you forget to hold her tight,
And looking into her eyes gives way to sleep,
You roll over most every night,
Taking more, then your share of sheet.
When you forget, she to, is a person,
As you argue from door to street,
Or change her radio station from “country” to a “rock’n” beat.
When you forget how much she cared for you,
As she stood aside of you “right” or “wrong”
And how little you were there for her,
In her “weak” moments, or in her “strong”.
When you forget the day you met,
and how your hearts did sway,
Or her actual waist size, ring size, eye color,
heaven forbid, her birthday.
When you forget her desires, wants, and needs,
You give her secondhand attention,
She has never been hard to please,
Though a little “shy”, I should mention.
When you forget why you loved her,
or worse yet,
Why you said, “I do”.
Then I guess its time to tell her,
and tell her right now….
“Baby we’re through!”
And looking into her eyes gives way to sleep,
You roll over most every night,
Taking more, then your share of sheet.
When you forget, she to, is a person,
As you argue from door to street,
Or change her radio station from “country” to a “rock’n” beat.
When you forget how much she cared for you,
As she stood aside of you “right” or “wrong”
And how little you were there for her,
In her “weak” moments, or in her “strong”.
When you forget the day you met,
and how your hearts did sway,
Or her actual waist size, ring size, eye color,
heaven forbid, her birthday.
When you forget her desires, wants, and needs,
You give her secondhand attention,
She has never been hard to please,
Though a little “shy”, I should mention.
When you forget why you loved her,
or worse yet,
Why you said, “I do”.
Then I guess its time to tell her,
and tell her right now….
“Baby we’re through!”
