    "Summer Wishes"

    Star-fired sparks slide
    short-sighted in the sky

    I spy them low-
    I spy them high-
I spy them as they die.

    Star-fired sparks slide
    short-sighted in the sky

    Lightning bugs-
    Lightning heat-
    lightning quick wishes

    spark star-fired
    through my nerves
    giving birth
    to midsummer nights
    dreams
    here on Earth

    Short-sighted.

nice. your poem really brings back pleasant childhood memories running around chasing fireflies...i actually think u just inspired my next poem. thanx. a joy to read :)

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
