"It's Really Over..."
If I had the words to express how I feel this day, it wouldn't really matter because the game is still going away
I started so young that I can hardly remember, now my Saturday's will be lonely during september, october, and november
This game has brought me so many good things, like friends, an identity, and a way to fit in
I have had so much success throughout the years, everyone always cheered for me and now I face the tears
How will I handle it? It's really hard to say, there's an empty feeling inside of me now, but tomorrow's another day
To end it right I have to leave this place, but it's probably better because I don't want anyone to see my face
Nobody could possible understand what's going on inside, only the brother's on my team and from them I will not hide
The team I've been with is a second family to me and when that final gun sounds, this chapter will be complete
I'll never forget how I'll feel on that afternoon game, we'll all go our separate ways and it'll never be the same
Am I ready to face it? I really don't know because how can you ever be ready to face something you have to let go
I've always given 100% on that field from the start, I just hope that for others that follow, I've left my mark
There is no game like the one we play because there's always such a feeling of togetherness and win or lose, we're together all the way
You can't take for granted the time you've got to play this great sport because the time you do have, believe it or not, is very short
Whenever you get down and out and feel like you want to quit, just think of the people who have moved on and how they hated to leave it
I can't even explain how special my time with this has been, all I can do is thank God for the inner strength and the will to win
Nobody else could do this and make it through on top, but for a very long time I have and now I have to stop
I refuse to say goodbye, but time has caught up with me, so all I can do is watch it go by and just think about the memories
The end has come and we have to move on, the game is over but the closeness we've shared will never be gone
The last game on Saturday will soon be over and when you sit back and remember it all, it's hard to think that it's all really over...
I started so young that I can hardly remember, now my Saturday's will be lonely during september, october, and november
