"If I Wrote You A Song"

If I wrote you  a song would you take time to hear, the wonderful music inside it so clear. Would you listen to each little note just to find, the magic unwinding in my heart so refine. I'd sing you a verse of love and devotion and watch your eyes glisten with tender emotion. the ending would swell as your heart beats in time your head would then swirl like effects from the wine. as it touches your soul with a desperate plea you'd find all those beautiful notes in me.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
