    "American Pride" By: Robert Claus

They caught us off guard that September day
Hoping America would somehow be swayed
Granted our hearts are shaking with hate
We'll never forget this terrible date

Yet even through the loss that we have endured
United we'll stand & again we'll be cured
Even our prisoner are ready to go
To join in the fight & share blow after blow

American Spirit is thicker than blood
Determined as Noah in the unbeatable flood
Don't doubt us for we'll find where you hide
And pound in the meaning of American Pride

"Dedicated to those who lost in the Trade Center disaster 09/11/01"

A very nice, national pride-laden testament... Too bad more of these efforts didn't go out before that fateful time...

Nice ode to September 11. Much passion in this poem. I like the way you ryme and the imagery is great. Write on!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
