Presence of Mind
God, please keep me in Your Presence of Mind
I know not what to do, nor what to say
But I promise to give You my gratitude
I have no where else to be but at Your feet
Where I have prepared You a seat
May I ask what it is I am to learn
My life never goes straight just a bunch of bumps and turns
I have no other want but to do Your will
Through which I often feel like I'm treading up a huge hill
I find at times it is a task that I am not capable to conquer
But I've been told I can as long as I have a hand from Above
And that You offer Yours with Love
God, give me peace inside while you transform me into the creature You would have me to be
My life, my will, my ways
Whatever it is that needs to change
God, give me Your strength to resist those things that I must let go
The habits I've formed that offer You no Praise
Even when its hard and feels really strange
And God, give me Your discerning spirit for all life brings
To distinguish between that which is bad and that which is good
And not to get off balance by the varieties of this worlds range
My peace, my strength, my spirit I give to You
Just in hopes that someday I will make it through to see You
Allow me to go only where Your pure waters flow
And replenish me by Your daily bread
And Jesus... please... if you could... keep me in Your Presence of Mind
