    Presence

I felt you this morning on the breath of dawn...
Touching me softly, awakening my spirit....
Familiar and warm-- here but not here...
Unspoken words of desire pass between us....

I felt you this afternoon in the light of the sun...
Warming my skin with your gaze...
Thought to thought-- your soul to mine...
    Tenderly exploring, learning, growing...

I felt you this evening in the gold western sky...
Walking beside me, always a part of me...
I hear your footstep even now, alone...
You are with me -- it calms me so....~~~

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
