Mimetou is a very unique and interesting name. I have an ancestor with that name. Where does it come from? What does it mean?

Mimetou was the Native American name of one of my great grandmas on my mother's side. I found it in some pages from a book about that side of her family, but a cousin who gave me the pages died before I could find out anything further.
