    Pay The Rent

    Pay the Rent

What if your relationship was like the rent?
How much are you willing to pay?
Would you pay on time or would you be late?
What amenities are needed if you to choose to stay?
Will you be making arrangements for partial payments?
How are you as tenant trustworthy and neat?
Or does the Landlord need to come by to ensure you are being meek?

Are your walls white or do they have color?
Will you be sharing the cost with one, or more lovers?
Do you have any pets, if so we need a deposit?
To cover any damages for replacing our brand new carpet.
Please be advised that when your lease is up we would like you to renew, but if not we bid you a due.
We would like you to reside here for years but understand this fact, if you weren’t happy here we wont be seeing you back.
We thank you for your loyalty yet we would like to inform you of a rent increase this year.
It’s fine if you sublease if we are aware but if you are caught unfaithful you must vacate,
    Is this clear?

What if your relationship was the rent and you didn’t have a job?
How would you meet your obligation to us now?
Are you prepared to appear in court to plead your case?
We can assure you that 30 days is all it will take.
We’d like to keep you longer but just don’t have the time,
You see there is some else waiting patiently to pay rent in line.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
