    Parents and the Games...

    I see myself,
    Reflected in the mirror,
    Running from my past,
    Hoping for a future.

    I wasn't bad,
    Neither was I good,
    All I did,
    All I could.

    Making ammends,
    Trying to be better,
    Being a mentor,
    Falling like a feather.

    Trying again,
    Giving my all,
    Hoping this time,
    Maybe I won't fall.

    It happened before,
    It will happen again,
    But not this time,
    Stick to the plan.

    Don't look back,
    That was my mistake,
    Knowing it will happen,
    Do you wish to partake?

    Giving you the choice,
    Showing you my hand,
    Let's play this game again,
This time it shall be grand.

Do you see what I am saying?
    Are you reading my words?
    This is about my life,
    And about yours.

    We play our games,
    We live our lives,
    They tell us no,
    They die by our knives.

    That is our game,
    Played in the mind,
    Giving the power,
    Never to blind.

    See what we have,
    Show them our hearts,
    They take us home,
    To tear us apart.

    I will not lose,
    Not this time,
    They won't win,
    Aw, what a crime.

    They raise us,
But only to be like them,
    Never to see,
They will die in the end.

    This is my time,
    I get to play,
    I shall win,
    Win on this day.

    This is my life,
    I am taking it back,
    They tried to ruin it,
    This time they lack.

    I have played this before,
    And lost everytime,
    Turning the tables,
    Fast on a dime.

    I have won,
    They lost this time,
    Now it is my turn,
    What a great little crime.

    Being a parent,
    A game in itself,
    Mine weren't that good,
    I will do better myself.

    I won't make their mistakes,
Never will I be like them,
    I am me,
    This is my plan.
