Pain

How could I have been so wrong
To love someone that leaves so long
Never knowing when or where
And never being there
Time goes by as I wait
With his food upon a plate
Sitting here
But never near
I feel so empty
Why do I care
I care cause love is the key
Why is he trying to flee
I give my soul
Only to be let go
My time here is almost gone
Never will i sit and wait
Because it is way to late

I like the rythym of this poem, the writing is longing for the love that she knows is done. However, she is accepting with notion she has to move on.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
