Owner of your Heart

    Owner of your Heart

I know exactly where I went wrong. When you realize what you knew all along. Wake up to a life in denial and someway still don’t know how. There’s a fine line of comparison, when you had that one you love. The owner of your heart you never want to lose, that’s one way to play yourself the fool. No matter where you stay it never feels like home, the more people around the more you feel alone. A real lesson learned everything seems clear. Hurts to know your reality is your biggest fear. Being mad at the people around you won’t do any good; they didn’t make the decisions for you, although you’d wish they would. It couldn’t get any worse since you made these decisions on your own. What do you do? Pick up the phone, try to call the owner of your heart, tell him you love him and don’t know how you ever took it this far. You were starting to believe your own lies and by time you realized, he never answered the phone. That’s when you knew it was too late, because the owner of your heart never misses a call, when you call now, misses them all. Just when you thought there was enough time for a love that won’t bend, it’s never too late to become what you might have been. The owners of your hearts true love again, don’t give up!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
