Our Relevance
We watch the world
With wandering eyes and
Weary hearts.
Compassion waning
Waiting always wanting
More settling for less.
What has become of us
We are Complacent
Obedient
Disenchanted
Disheartened
Looking upwards
Instead of inwards
Ignoring the writing on the walls
Searching for answers amongst the clouds.
Trapped like beasts
Awaiting the abattoir
We become
Friends
Lovers
Fathers
Brothers
We pretend that ending
Is not is eventual
Eventually though
We see that it is.
And we live with this
Become great in spite of this.
Without ending
There is no meaning
We can not still this progression
Hands both large and small
Ceaselessly seizing tomorrow
And with it
The end of us all.
