Mr. Williams
We the fools
Beholden to a golden voice
A face of familiarity
Seeking the extraordinary
This pauper
Now a profit.
We the fools
Elevating him
To the furthest reaches
Of our imaginations
Our eyes
Following closely
Our charitable nature
Never more prominent
“If we can help him then we can help them.”
The afflicted
The mad
The hungry
The poor
We can solve their problems
For we have conquered our own.
Vanity masquerading as charity
Our nature
Never more prominent than now.
