Our Christmas Gift.
Time draws near.Silence mixed with snowflakes,
Like soft whispers of love, fill the air.
All God's children listen to sounds of the Season.
"Oh Holy night"...
While silver slivers of frost
Reflect the perfection of the perfect gift,
God's gift of his Son on earth,
Our eternal reward
In heaven.
Speak the name, Jesus, softly.
Close your eyes in reflection, as tears of joy
Slip quietly into our hands.
Hands that reach out in adoration
And gratitude.
How can we ever earn the awesomeness of such a gift?
Simple, God expects nothing in return,
Except our love,
And the love of neighbor.
Our life on earth is to be spent seeking
To become closer to the image and reflection
Of our God.
Mistakes made, are to be expected, but not planned.
Our daily goal is to keep the presence and awareness of God
In our minds and hearts.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Love and respect for ourselves, family, and friends,
Will bring God's blessing and grace
Into our lives.
As we seek to learn how to love
More openly and sincerely,
We draw closer
To the day when we hear the voice of God
Whisper to us,
"You have done well my child
Come now into my arms
And let me hold you close,
Forevermore."
