ONE'S OWN SELFISHNESS

ONE'S OWN SELFISHNESS

ONE'S OWN SELFISHNESS
OFTEN WHEN HARSH WORDS ARE SPOKEN
A LOVED ONES HEART WILL BE BROKEN
AS HER TEAR DROPS ARE FALLIN
SHE NOW KNOWS HE WON'T BE CALLIN
LIKE A KNIFE THROUGH EACH ONES HEART
THE FEAR NOW OF BEING APART
IS JUST AT ITS START

AS FEAR TAKES HOLD
BOTH WISH THEY HADN'T BEEN SO BOLD
BUT KNOW THATS WHY THE OTHER IS BEING COLD
THEN THEY NOTICE A TREND
THEY HAVE ALSO BEEN LIKE THIS WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS
AND KNOW WHAT WAS IS NO LONGER
AND HOPE THAT WHAT HAPPENED WILL ONLY MAKE THEM STRONGER

BOTH WANT TO FORGET
AND TRY NOT TO REGRET
WHAT ONCE WAS A FLURIISHING LOVE
HAS NOW FALLIN LIKE A WOUNDED DOVE

WoW I like this one if reminds me of a I wrote same years ago entitle " Reality has come home". Thanks so much for sharing ur friend in poetry, Infiniti

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
