One sad story just isn't enough
I'm from.....A little city with big dreams
People try to hide the fact, but don't know what it means
The homeless pain seeping through their eyes
Trying to make time fly, but they can't so they strive
I'm from family and friends, close people with no relations
Dads always gone and mommy can't stay home
Daddy takes us on special "field trips" because he CAN'T leave his kids at home
Seems so happy, but don't realize that I'm alone
Family always seems to be there, but can't realize the hate
Understand my daddy's possession position; taking care of my brothers and cooking meals, can you believe I was only eight!?
I'm from dark streets, rythm with no beat
Graffiti like trees, they sprout everwhere
Looks so pretty, but can't believe no one cares
The gang bangers, drug dealers, prostitutes and hoes
Everybody hustles for a dime. Will they get it, you never know!
I'm from big dreams of being something great
Pops says, "Stay in school, education is your fate. Mommy and I don't have enough to send you to school."
Even though I get spoiled, got more than 25 shoes, I'm no fool
Walking in the cold streets, spit a rhyme or two
Say I got potential maybe
Just dreaming of that day when I'm on T.V.
I'm from a broken down home, single parent. Isn't that sad?
Mom raising three kids with no dad, that isn't too bad
Everything I ever thought of is now gone
Just never forget I'm my daddy's spawn
Dead dogs seem to get to me
Feels like I'm shackled up just wanna be free
A desperate love story, the distance couldn't be true
A sad girl just so blue
I'm from my own life story
I'm from a girl's "soon to be glory"
