OCEAN'S WINDOW

OCEAN'S WINDOW

Salty kisses on my lips
The wind caresses my skin
These are the things I love best

Crashing waves upon the shore
Making me crave even more
Creatures of the night do call

Dancing in the wooded glen
This dream I wish to never end
Resting in the arms of nature

May I stay here forever
Home is in the mountains high
Knowing I am truly alive

The forest is my home
Here I will never be alone
This place keeps me from all harm

Watching the dance of the sea
Through the Ocean's Window I do see
Returning me to who I have always been

This is the place I wish to be
Creative energy float through me
Promises of returning here to renew my soul

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
