Now that I'm Missin' You
Like the empty whiskey bottle
layin' by the door
like the hollow sound of my footsteps
as I pace across the floor
As blue as that favorite dress you wore
on the day we said "I do"
That's how my heart feels
Now that I'm missin' you
I built this little house
way up high upon this hill
I put flowers like you asked in planters
at every window sill
A white picket fence surrounds the yard
And I quit my carrousin' and playin cards
But calling this home is gettin' mighty hard
Now that I'm missin' you
I just smoked my last cigarette
the tray is over flowin'
I've got a gig tonight at the VFW
I really should be goin'
We'll be watchin' young lovers
dance around the room
As the band bangs out their favorite tunes
Yeah I'll be singin' country but feelin' the blues
Now that I'm missin you
