not ready to let go

    not ready to let go

I looked out the window as drove away , as you walked out the door you had nothing to say

rewind things back to one week ago, When you told me you loved me and would never let me go

I remember the first time that we kissed , never thought love could feel like this

I'm hoping you will turn you car around and walk through that door, Like you have done so many times before

But I know that its over I'm just not ready to let go , My heart is saying go after you but my head is saying no

I remember the night you shattered my world , You told me you were in love with another girl

I felt like my heart had stopped beating that day , You said you were sorry and didnt mean for things to happen this way

I had to much pride and i just nodded my head , As I looked at you I felt my world rip to shreds

Now that your gone I can't stop the tears from falling , everytime the phone rings i'm hoping it's you thats calling

I'm hoping you will turn the car around and walk through that door, Like you have done so many times before

But i know that it's over I'm just not ready to let go, My heart is saying go after you but my head is saying no

Hi there. This is a very touching poem. Sad, but heartfelt. Keep up the good work. For evey good woman there is a good man. God Bless

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
