    NATURAL MONSTER

    NATURAL MONSTER

HORROR HAS EMBARKED UPON US AND HAS BLANKETED THE NIGHT SKIES
WE CAN HEAR THE DEAFENING SHRIEKS AND WAILS OF THE FOREST’S CRIES
ALL IS NOT WELL AND THIS WE DO SUSPICIOUSLY FEAR
SHIVERS AND CHILLS COMES ABOUT FROM THE EERIE SOUNDS WE HEAR

WHAT DASTARDLY DEEDS HAVE WE DONE TO INCUR SUCH WRATH
WITH CONSTANT HOWLING AND BANGING IT NOW CREEPS UP THE PATH
DESTROYING AND RIPPING ALL LIVING THINGS IN ITS’ WAKE
IT HAS BUILD MOMENTUM, GOTTEN STRONGER AND IS NOW AT THE GATE

THE DOORS ARE TIGHTLY BOLTED AND ARE FASTLY SECURE
THE WINDOWS ARE ALL FASTENED, EVEN TIGHTER THAN BEFORE
IT BEATS THE DOORS, HOWLS AT THE WINDOWS AND BECKONS TO GET IN
NERVOUSLY AND SHEEPISHLY QUIET WE ALL HUDDLED TOGETHER DEEP WITHIN

REPEATEDLY, UNCEASINGLY, YOU CAN HEAR THE TREES CRIES
MOST WILL CEASE TO EXIST AS THEY ARE UPROOTED AND DIES
LIKE THE CRACK OF A WHIP, THE SKY ILLUMINATES FOLLOWED BY A THUNDEROUS ROAR
THEN IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE, ALL TOO SHORT, IT BECOMES PITCH BLACK ONCE MORE

WE ARE SECRETLY SCARED, YET WE ACT BRAVE AND PLAY ALOOF
OUR HEARTS SANK TO OUR BELLIES, BECAUSE NOW IT’S ATOP THE ROOF
IT’S NOW TRYING TO PEEK, I THINK IT SEES US CLEAR
IT’S FOUND A STRUCTURAL FLAW AND IT’S COMING THROUGH THERE

THE NAILS WAILS AND THE BEAMS BELLOWS BENEATH ITS WEIGHT
IT’S NOW LIFTING THE ROOF, WE FEAR WE MIHGT BE TOO LATE
SURELY WE MUST ACT FAST, DECISIVE AND NOT LET IT GET IN
WE MUST MAKE HASTE BECAUSE NOW WE CAN FEEL ITS BREATH UPON OUR SKIN

HAS IT SUDDENLY STOPPED OR IS IT MY MIND PLAYING GAMES ON ME
HAS IT ENGULFED US ALL, OR HAS IT CEASES TO BE
RELUCTANTLY THROUGH THE WINDOW BLINDS WE PEERED
AND SAW THAT IT WAS GONE, AND WE WERE NO LONGER SCARED

BEHIND IT LEFT CHAOS AND DEVESTATION AS FAR AS THE EYES COULD SEE
IT HAD GUTTED HOUSES, TORE DOWN WALLS, RAVAGED GARDENS AND UPROOTED TREES
WHO COULD HAVE KNOWN MOTHER NATURE WOULD INFLICT SUCH PAIN
BUT WE WERE AL L LUCKY TO HAVE SURVIVED THE WRATH OF THE HURRICAINE
