Naked
Scraped and clawed my way into the worldNaked
Drenched in the sins of my mother
Wearing nothing more than her blood
Hypocrites in the light clothed my body
Rendering me ashamed of my glory
Mortals deeming me unsuitable for society
Merely because I showed them my ass
When I descended from heaven's clasp on sleeping babes
Placed shields on my eyes
Restricting the truth from what God had created so innocently
Dissecting my color, my heritage and even my hair
As nappy as I wanna be
And I just don't care
Comprehended the meaning of my warm brown skin
While they tried to stifle my freedom
With the clothes they trapped me in
Shackles clenched around my waist
As the world made haste to enslave my womanhood
Placing something known as "panty" over something so so good
My coochie
Once again adhering to the rules that aimed to imprison me
So I stand here in my Walmart gear
Peroxide all up and down through my nappy hair
Saying loose me from your conformations
And worship my imperfect body
Appreciate my stretch marks and my cellulite
Relish in the celebration of emancipation from our shame
Return me to the way in which I came
Into this cyclone of life
Naked
Innocent and Happy
Leave me to run rampant and free in my beautiful black skin
Elated that my beauty shines not only from within
But from the whole
The whole of me
Beautifully crafted by my creator
Sassy
Classy
And down right sexy
Loose me to bask in the glow of my naked body
