Inspiration: A losing battle with depression?

    Written in NY

    My Way

    I stepped upon this day
In hopes to find a way
    In which I shall confide
For all hopes have gone, they died.
I shall merit now a sleeping pill
For a life is not my will
    The grasp no longer tight
Cause this life just isnt right.
The darker side of happiness is where I now reside
I prayed last night for my last ride
    But here I am today.
Maybe I am to stay, but will I ever find a way?

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
